The Wilson Family is Growing by FOUR!

Grow #1) I am not sure who heard the news, but Matt proposed to Becky (Rebecca) on 11-10-07. They went out for her "birthday" dinner where Matt made special arrangements with a local steakhouse. On the table was: roses, a lot of memories, and a sign that said, "If this is our past, imagine our future." She was in tears and of course, said yes. He gave her a 1 carat princess cut diamond. After dinner, they went to LaMadeline for dessert. Matt also made special arrangements for his family and our family to meet them there, which was also a surprise for Becky.
Right now the tentative plans are to marry in about a year and a half. Matt's brother is in South Korea until that time and they want Issac to be able to be there for the celebration.

Grow #2) Jammie and Shane got engaged last night. We all knew it was coming, but I didn't know quite when. Why December 27th for the engagement? Nothing special, just that Jammie wasn't expecting it! Shane put together a slide show/video pictures of their last 1 1/2 year together and the last slide popped the big question - and he knelt down with her new, sparkley ring. What are the plans? They are planning on a small, local wedding for family and best friends. When are the plans? Pretty soon, it will probably be Emmy Lu's first visit to Grandma (Me maw) and Grandpa Wilson's house.

Grow #3) Shane's daughter Madison will "officially" become part of the family. You can see from the Christmas pictures that she struggles to get along with everyone (hah!) :)! So, she will become grandaughter, niece & cousin. - to see a few snapshots from Christmas visit: http://threedoobies.blogspot.com

Grow #4) Emmy's cousin will be arriving sometime around July 23rd! Yes, Jammie had pictures of her little, healthy peanut to show us all at Christmas. We have known since Thanksgiving, but she wanted to make sure everything was OK with the ultrasound.

October 2006 - Grandpa and Kelly

Here are a couple of pictures from when I visited Grandpa in October 2006. I was in St. Louis for a conference and took the opportunity to catch a "hopper" plane into O'hare. Grandpa was showing me Uncle Shawn's "new" car and we had a classic lunch at Portillo's!

I heard from Donna

The Wilson's are World Travelers:

"I have just returnd home from an amazing trip to Cambodia and Laos. While there one of my bad knees got a lot worse and I may be now or in the near future having surgery." -Donna

There was more in the email, but it was about the address list and sending pictures. I still have to make the edits that I have received since last Friday. I will be sending out the updated list this week sometime!

Wilson Christmas Party

The Wilson Christmas Party happened on December 15th. I don't have a lot of details, as I wasn't at the party. If anyone wants to send pictures, I will post them! Like I said, I wasn't at the party, but I want to keep this blogspot a "Wilson Happenings" page.

From Auntie Dianne, "Saturday we had the annual Christmas party it wasnt the same without dad i swear i could hear him laughing and i really felt his presence with us especially when the lobster reappeared. It was a bitter sweet gathering but i know dad would have been disappointed in us if we did not keep up the tradition. I really miss his words of wisdom and how he could calm me down when ever i got fired up about something that was not worth it. i thank God every night for blessing our family with such a great man. I will miss him terribly but i know he is still with me. this holiday season will not be the same but i know if we remember all the many good times it will help us through."

From Jason, "We had the Christmas party last night. It was a lot of fun and a good gathering, but just not the same without Grandpa."

I know this is going to be tough Holiday season for all of us. We were a very lucky family to have Grandpa a part of it. Hopefully, we will figure out a way to be filled with happiness and memories vs being sad because we miss him so much.

Kevin Wilson and Family

This picture was taken at Heather's wedding. We were lucky to spend this time with Grandpa! Becky (Rebecca), Kelly, Linda, Grandpa and Kevin.

Wilson Blog Spot

I am creating this blog spot to facilitate sharing among the Wilson family. The blog spot will allow me to post happenings among the Wilson family. So, if you have something to share, email it to me, and I will post. There is also a comments section so we can all communicate and comment with each other. I hope you participate!

Pictures can also be easily posted to the website. Come across a favorite picture/memory with Grandpa/Dad, send it and I will post it. If you can, write a little description of what the memory/occasion was - even if it was just a normal day/visit.

Hope you visit and share often!
